The RT Series hood family represents a significant improvement in the realm of
Tychem hood respiratory protection. In addition to the recognized benefits of hood-
style respirators (no fit testing, no facial hair issues, and eyewear accommodation),
the RT Series offers several unique, customer-driven features that make it stand out
from other Tychem hoods. By working in cooperation with some well-known Life
Science customers, the RT Series addresses the needs of the most discriminating
worker while instilling performance confidence with the Industrial Hygienist
responsible for that worker’s health and safety.

Patent-pending Air Delivery System
Similar to the proven design of the Bullard CC20, the top performing hood in the
OSHA-acknowledged ORC Study, the RT Series provides similar high performance
results using an inflatable neck cuff design to provide a positive custom seal around
the user’s neck Air flows into the neck cuff, inflating the neck cuff fully to provide a
seal (Figure 1). Air is then directed through a three-channel air delivery system that
delivers the air over the user’s head, down the front of the lens, and into the
breathing zone (Figure 2). The three-channel system helps to promote curvature of
the hood for a better fit to the user’s head. This unique air delivery method provides
for a positive seal, minimizes fogging of the lens, minimizes dry eyes and nasal
passages, and provides a reservoir of breathing air to help maintain positive
pressure.

Abrasive Rebound Protection to Head, Neck and Upper Torso

The Bullard 88VX Series airline respirators offer comfortable, reliable
respiratory protection for abrasive blasters and painters. NIOSH
approved as a Type C or CE Continuous Flow Class Respirator
(Approval No. TC-19C-293)

Comfortable Fit
Bullard's lightweight inner shell with an adjustable headband suspension
holds the respirator firmly and comfortably on the wearer's head. Airflow
is channeled directly to the user's breathing zone for easy breathing.
The helmet easily accommodates beards, prescription eye wear or
safety glasses. No fit testing is required.

Head Protection
The helmet provides top impact and penetration protection. The helmet
and cape help protect the worker's entire head, face and upper body
from abrasive rebound, airborne contaminants and messy overspray.

Optimum Visibility
The wide-angle faceshield lens and headband suspension system are
positioned for optimum visibility. With the translucent yellow helmet,
workers don't experience a closed-in feeling.

Climate Control
Optional climate control assemblies permit workers to warm or cool
incoming air to maximize comfort and improve productivity.

Blasting Respirators
E.D. Bullard Company offers a wide variety of abrasive blasting capes
for the 88 Series airline respirator. Designed with user protection and
comfort in mind, Bullard capes allow easy head and body movement
and are available in a variety of different styles and materials. Each
Bullard cape is NIOSH-approved for use with the 88 and features a
comfortable, sewn-in, spandex neck cuff designed to provide a physical
barrier to airborne contaminants. Choose the style and material that
